About Diana Warner ... Diana Warner Carroll, New York jewelry designer, has been creating art since childhood. Growing up, Diana was influenced by two separate worlds—the world of brothers, sports, and the outdoors; and the world of dance class, girlie glitter, and glamour. Diana developed a taste for the juxtaposition of the two worlds and the unexpected combinations that resulted.
Four years ago, Diana’s desire to create began to take place in the form of jewelry making. Diana’s influences from childhood appear in the unique combination of shapes, colors, and materials she uses in her creations. Within the last three years, a third influence has emerged as Diana’s love for travel has taken her all over the world, and now, to the continent of Africa.
While spending six weeks in Africa, Diana realized another juxtaposition—the natural beauty of the third-world areas of the globe and its stark contrast to the devastation left by extreme poverty and disease. Here her heart began to gain awareness, not only of a problem, but also of an understanding that it was not hopeless. Every person has been given gifts, talents, and passions; these are things that can be harvested and used to fight for a cause. Wars are not won by one person or with one weapon; wars are won by a large amount of people working together for a cause. Diana believes once her eyes were opened to the devastation that AIDS and extreme poverty leave, she had to respond.
By using her gifts and talents to serve people, to create jobs through the production of her design, and by giving her time and passions to the fight against AIDS and extreme poverty, Diana believes she can offer the public excellent design while aiding in the fight to which she has been called.
Now in New York City's Chelsea Flower Market, Diana and her team at their 28th Street studio make art daily for a cause.
